AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE PHOTOS, THERE IS A WIDE BORDER SURROUNDING THE GLASS CENTER. THE EDGE HAS FLOWERS FOLLOWED BY A ROW OF BEADS THEN THE PIERCED AREA AND THEN ANOTHER ROW OF BEADS AND THEN AN UNADORNED STRIP. THE GLASS CENTER HAS AN ETCHED PETALED FLOWER. THE MAKER’S MARK FRANK M. WHITING STERLING Talisman Rose IS ETCHED ONTO THE BOTTOM EDGE. INFORMATION FROM THE INTERNET THE COMPANY WAS FOUNDED in MASSACHUSETTS in 1866 AND WAS DESTROYED BY FIRE IN 1875. PRODUCTION WAS TRANSFERRED TO NEW YORK CITY. THE COMPANY WAS PURCHASED BY GORHAM in 1924 AND PRODUCTION TRANSFERRED TO RHODE ISLAND. I DO NOT KNOW THE YEAR OF MANUFACTURE OF THIS PIECE BECAUSE THERE IS NO DATE SYMBOL. The weight is just about 5 oz. The completed carton will ship Priority insured at the 1 pound rate. THE CONDITION: Considering its age, the overall condition is excellent with a few minor quibbles. ●●●Please allow the photos to guide you as they are the lion’s share of this description.●●● This is what I see to describe: on the silver there are a few slight bends; there are a few very light scratches, scuffs and some polishing swirls; there is some table friction wear on the base edge. On the glass there are a couple of barely noticeable tiny marks. All very minor and described for complete accuracy. Otherwise I do not see anything of serious consequence to describe. ●●●I hope I have not missed anything. If I did, it was surely minor and 100% unintentional.●●● Just about 99% of the collectibles I offer are vintage/pre-owned and may show a small amount of handling.
